2021 Block 2 Cabernet Sauvignon

“The Long John” 

So named for my great mate Scotty who came and helped with the Cab Sauv. We were at the winery one early morning, I was in a T-shirt, shorts and boots, Scotty was in jeans, top, hoodie, beanie, and boots.

I asked him if he wasn’t too hot (it was around 10 degrees C) and he replied, “It’s that bloody cold I’ve got long johns on!” 

To be fair, he had just returned from living in Asia for a long time. But it wasn’t that cold.

Lifted bright dark berries, dried herbs and balanced ok.

Savoury, mouth filling tannins, supple and silky. Loads of mid palate fruit and texture. Long, lingering and clean. Will benefit from careful cellaring and / or decanting if drinking now.
